Did you know...

  • you can take a look at a Blackboard Tutorial by logging in with the username / password given below the login box to the right?
  • you can download FREE security software for home, including spam blockers, spyware removal software, and more? Click the Computer Resources link to the right for a list of software.
  • if your instructor sends an email to you in Blackboard, it will show up in your CampusCruiser mailbox? Click the link to CampusCruiser on the right to visit. Use the same username and password as for Blackboard.
  • Not everyone has a Blackboard account - only those students who are taking classes taught on Blackboard (online, hybrid, and web-enhanced classes). If you don't already have a Blackboard account, your account is created the day after you register for a class taught on Blackboard.

Important Web Browser Information!

For our version of Blackboard, the recommended web browsers are Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2. Here is the chart of all supported browsers and operating systems for Blackboard 7.3. To determine the version of the browser you are using, choose 'About Internet Explorer' (or 'About Firefox') from the browser's Help menu. We do not recommend upgrading to IE 8 or Firefox 3 at this time.

Problems with Internet Explorer 8

The most common problem seen by IE 8 users is the timer on timed tests covering up the save and submit buttons. It looks like this:

You should be able to get around this problem simply by switching into Compatibility View.

Solutions:

Problems with Firefox 3

The only known problem seen by Ff 3 users is that when trying to upload a file (like attaching a file to an assignment), you get the error:

Please enter a valid file
